Biography
Kay Kyaw, MD, MBBS is a board-certified nephrologist. She earned her medical degree from the Institute of Medicine in Yangon; completed her residency in internal medicine at Long Island College Hospital; and completed fellowship training in nephrology at the University of Southern California.
At LA County Nephrology Associates, Dr. Kyaw provides comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease, with clinical interests that include acute renal failure, chronic renal failure, end-stage renal disease, hypertension, electrolyte imbalances, and kidney transplants.
Dr. Kyaw’s patient care philosophy is grounded in combining medical knowledge with compassionate care: “Understanding the body’s physiology allows me to deliver safe, effective, and individualized treatment while prioritizing comfort, communication, and trust.”
Dr. Kyaw is fluent in Burmese and is a member of the American Medical Association and the Burmese-American Medical Association. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling and walking along the beach.
